In Sand Art the image is in a constant flux and this makes each illustration and each live event unique and unrepeatable. What really matters is not the goal achieved with the final image, but rather the path to the image itself. What is fascinating is to behold the making of an image and enjoy the moment of its transformation into countless instantaneous depictions as fascinating is the awareness that the image just created will transform or disappear in a matter of minutes or seconds.
Just like the mandala is 'destroyed' at the end of its creation by sweeping away the sand of which it is composed, in Sand Art the gesture becomes the artistic object, by which we are reminded of the transience of things and of rebirth, seen as a force of destruction and life-giving.
